Basic Pattern Drafting

Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:

• Draft basic torso and skirt and sleeves slopers;
• Demonstrate the use of slopers to create complex designs;
• Apply clothing construction skills to develop muslin samples for dress form fit evaluations;
• Utilize slopers to create original designs.

• 15 yards muslin
• Shears
• Straight pins
• Fine line felt tip markers in 2 different colors
• Safety pins
• Scotch tape
• Pattern drafting supplies (hip curve, fashion curve ruler, L- square, ruler, etc.)
• Seam ripper
