Basic Draping 

Instructor: Monir Zandghoreishi

Learning Objectives:
  • Identify fabric grain and demonstrate how it relates to correct balance of a garment based on basic draping techniques;
  • Drape basic bodice and skirt slopers;
  • Demonstrate the draping principles of dart manipulation and added fullness to create a variety of styles
  • Analyze simple designs and make complete patterns

Students supplies to bring:

  • 4 yards muslin
  • Shears
  • Straight pins
  • Fine line felt tip markers in 2 different colors
  • Safety pins
  • Scotch tape
  • Pattern drafting supplies (hip curve, fashion curve ruler, L- square, ruler, etc.)
  • Seam ripper
